Candle-Light Rally: “Speak the Truth”

Two days ago, I saw a rally in front of my campus. The rally was held on Taft Avenue, almost half of the street are occupied by the participants. The rally was started around 6 PM and finish at 7 PM. It was very crowded afternoon because they use drums and megaphone’ siren. When the area is getting dark, they use candle. After the rally, the participants conducted candle light prayer and read statements.

Surely, the rally is connected with the current case: National Broadband Network – ZTE Corp. After the presence of a key witness, huge number of people conducts rallies in the street. It happens because there is indication that current President (or the husband) is involved. People also want another key witness to tell the truth (truth= katotohanan).

 

Tell or speak the truth and ‘moderate their greed’ are the two famous jargons in here. When I attend the events, it is quiet often that the two sentences are spoken in the speech. Also, both are mentioned in the news.

The participants are the high school students, students and officers from my campus, and students from neighbor campus. They show posters or banners to the vehicles that passed Taft Avenue. Some people stand on the pedestrian area to watch the rally, including me . I was very busy to take pictures and video with my phone:)
