Hmmm…Several days ago my friends and I were invited to attend Asian Festival’08 (created by Asian Studies Class) in Asian Social Institute. One of the program is cultural performance, therefore we should wear our clothes that represent Indonesian culture. They require the food from each country, for us the simple one is Pecel. Since all of us are male and have limited time. Finally, everything is well prepared.
Actually, we went there to attend the festival, very well-dressed… The shocking news is the sister who suppose give the performance (dance) should be hospitalized. So….emergency plan
Sing a song! Hmmm…but when we saw the other give dance and well-prepared performance, we need another emergency action: poco-poco
Even only 15 minutes practice (without song), the show must go on!
It’s little bit difficult at the first move, but after we adjusted with the music then all of the audience gave big applause. However, I was not sure that it came because of we made a good one
It is balance! hahahahaha..
After the show, one of the leader in that school said that: you stole the show! (I am not sure that it was praise or critics:)) And we just realized that we are the only male performer
All in all, it is for Merah-Putih!
I applaud your bravery and it was definitely such a rare nasionalism …
It’s kinda weird because our dance , in this case poco2 is highly appreciated outside Indo.
While as indonesian, we think that our own traditional dances (or Indonesian culture at some extent) are lame (or ‘kampungan’)
BTW, thx for leaving comments on my blog
Ur welcome…
almost exactly the same
One left story, they told me that this dance is similar to the Philippine’ dance
hehe….. nice post. Glad to know that our culture got a chance to be acknowledged outside our country.
btw, you’re so brave, man. I’ve never done any dance in front of people in my whole life
standing applause must give to your action!
event not all the participant know well about the basic of the Indonesia culture, poco-poco & pecel, two words great combination! hehehhe…
this dance is similar to the Philippine’ dance
Is this going to be another ‘copyright’ problem between 2 countries again ? heheheh
tigis: thanks man…just try a small one
pudakonline: hehehehe, two words
Nice…
mikearmand: its quiet hard to distinguish: “wow its good we have the same” or “wow u copy from us or we copy from u. I hope the first one
Gila man, dirimu bisa poco-poco?
Ckckckck.
Mana memakai selendang asal Indonesia, apa namanya tuh, aku lupa.
Bener2 mau nunjukin dirimu asalnya indonesia meski masih tetap memakai celana jins.
Hahahahaha
